Is the Guidebook Just for Ages 10-12? What Does Age Really Have to Do With It?

Is the Guidebook Just for Ages 10-12? What Does Age Really Have to Do With It?

One of the questions we’re often asked is whether the Via Pia Junior Business Guidebook is strictly for girls aged 10-12.

The short answer is no.

We recommend the guidebook for 10-12 year olds because this is such a powerful window. At this age, girls are independent enough to read and think critically, but still young enough that imagination comes naturally. They are curious. They are observant. They are beginning to ask bigger questions about how the world works.

It is a beautiful in-between stage.

But business thinking does not suddenly switch on at 10. And it certainly does not need to wait until adulthood.

The guidebook is written specifically with 10-12 year olds in mind. The language is clear, the visuals are engaging, the activities are practical and hands-on. It's designed to feel approachable, like play, rather than overwhelming.

For a 12-year-old entering her teen years, it still feels relevant and 'cool'. It does not talk down to her, but it also does not assume prior knowledge.

As girls move further into their teens, the design and tone may begin to feel slightly youthful. That is natural. It was built for that earlier stage of development.

But that does not mean it loses its value to an older audience, because the concepts inside are foundational.

Product development
Pricing & finance

These are not age-bound ideas.

In fact, the simplicity of the guidebook is one of its strengths. It breaks business down into language that is easy to understand and apply. Older teens, and even adults, can read it and grasp the fundamentals quickly without needing to study complex theory.

It strips away jargon. It removes intimidation. It focuses on clarity.

So while the design is tailored to girls aged 10-12, the lessons themselves are universal.

The real question is not, “Is she exactly the right age?”

It's, “Is she ready to understand how her ideas can become something real?”

If she is curious, creating, and asking how to take the next step, the guidebook will meet her there.
